Danyale Thomas
Danyale Thomas has been in the hair industry for
over 20 years. She began her career as a stylist in Seattle in 1987 as
assistant/extern to Deborah Rodriguez at Genesis One Salon.
In the beginning Danyale specialized in relaxing, coloring
and cutting African American hair. Throughout the years, with
extensive research and training,Danyale has
evolved into one of the industry's most respected Natural Hair
Artist/Locologist.
Danyalebelieves that the natural hair texture of
African-American hair is one of the most unique, exciting, and
unrealized potential areas of hair care that there is today.
I think that we are afraid of our natural hair texture, we
are not taught as young girls to embrace who we are
naturally. This phenomenon has created a generation of women
who have no idea how to care for, or style the hair that
grows from their head naturally.
Danyale believes that it is her life/career
purpose to share this knowledge of natural hair with as many
African-American, bi-racial, and naturally curly men and women
possible.
Danyale is the Owner and Creative Director of
Good Hair Salon, a contributor to Naptural
Roots Magazine, and supports
SVI Externship Program.
